MarcyandJames
Great idea about the business cards. I can't tell you how many times we have hunted for a pen and paper to write on. We also buy small plastic containers to put things like shampoo and conditioner in so we don't have the extra weight to lug around. I then put them in zip lock bags and pack them in the luggage, that way if they leak, they are in the ziplock bags and it dosen't mess up your clothes. I have never had them leak. Makes for lighter carryons. Wow, I quess it takes me longer to type than it does you!!!! Great minds think alike........ Andrea I type really slow, never took it in school

TheSkipper
When we bought new luggage last year I also bought heavy duty plastic covers for the pullman cases. So it is easy to spot the red bags with the plastic covers, and it sure protects to luggage. Years ago I also bought luggage straps with our names woven right into them, but with the covers don't use them much anymore. We also take clorox wipes in a plastic bag and clean everything in the stateroom when we arrive. Including the TV remote, telephone, door knobs, vanity surface and any thing else we will be touching. We also take along a bunch of alcohol wipes that the casinos pass out to have with us when we are ashore. We too do the business card thing and the egg crate. On our most recent cruises I replaced my classic carry on case with a day pack. It works great for all my electronics and cameras, meds, etc. and it really comes in handy for shore excursions, even has netting one each side for water bottles. It also makes a great place to display on the little "pins" I pick up from various countries. Also have a small clip on compass attached to it. hazelson
I always make a folder before we cruise - and print up the pages with the itinerary, receipts, anything interesting on ports, copies of id's etc. so it its always handy before during and after the trip. I use a binder with those clear pages and use several to put in the photos we get on board. The hard cover offers great protection and I can tooss the carboard frames. Another must have for me - I clip the deck plans from the cruise brochure - that way we can familiarize ourselves with the layout of the ship - sometimes those dining rooms are hard to find. Once on board I fold them up and carry them in my pocket for quick reference.

Also put in copies of the hotel reservations. Also I left a folder with my Mother of copies of the hotel reservation, ship reserv. info, everything she would need to get in touch with us (and even our passports) including our licence plate number on our truck...in know that might be going overboard but my Mother is kinda pessimistic. And I took my Carnival magazine, book thingie I got from them. I had it about memorized anyway... Joey, that is a VERY handsome picture of you two... soleil
I make a point of remembering the names of my stateroom attendants, waiters and muster station leaders. I also make a point of turning off my phone! I'm on vacation! It can wait!
cruisetarp
I also start the day by taking a close-up picture of the daily planner or the Port paper they leave in your cabin. Since most of the arrivals in ports are in the early morning hours the Islands tend to all look the same til you are closer to the dock. With a photo of the planner it is easy to keep them straight.
