JoeyandDavid
we made a stop on Catalina Island. When seeing what was 'approved' by the cruise line, we decided never to follow their shopping maps again. funny
TheSkipper
Sue, All the diamond stuff and watches we have purchased in the islands have appraised for about double what we paid for them. Always have them appraised by M.J. Christienson, Las Vegas's best jeweler when we return home.
lashl
We have made several jewerly purchases in St Thomas and St Martten. Like Ed we have had them appraised and all have appraised for well over what we paid for them.
DebbieandJerry
I like the local places: grocery stores (for spices, coffee, marinades, cookies); craft booths (for homemade stuff). I'm not a big shopper (jewelry, expensive items). I usually buy souvenoir stuff for co-workers. Now that we have luggage limitations, this whole "present" thing is going to be majorily revisited. DebbieandJerry
NEW QUESTION: How will the new luggage requirements impact what you will pack for your next cruise?
JoeyandDavid
NEW QUESTION: How will the new luggage requirements impact what you will pack for your next cruise? we will pay for one extra bag between us and utilize the onboard laundry services
rogue
We will try to pack less, but we will also try to cruise from a port near by so we don't have to fly.
TheSkipper
On recent cruises we have taken only one bag each plus our carry-on's, of a backpack for me and a roll aboard for Roe. So no change for us. We will not us an airline that charges for the first bag. So, all in all now big change for us.
Rat
I will definitely pack less clothing and also send the laundry out more often.
Suzila
I don't have any cruises scheduled right now, but we're looking at two. I won't know how to pack until we book a cruise, know what time of year it is, and what type of clothes we'll need. I can usually get away with one large suitcase and one garment bag plus a carry-on, so it won't be too different for us either.
