I agree with you 100% Debbie. Jamaica is beautiful but it was the one place I felt completely unsafe and won't leave the ship if I ever go there again. The folks hanging around the pier area just won't take no for an answer and leave you alone.

For us it's definitely Nassau. We too loved Huatulco, the beach is awesome and on a second trip there we took a taxi to the next town - what a marvelous authentic Mexican experience we had.

We agree eith the others. Jamaica is our worst. We not only were offered drugs but the tour guide we hired pointed out a drug lords house! Now that's something to be proud of!

I have to agree about Ocho Rios. Although Isla Margarita is a close second - nothing there (at least at that time - 2005). We were supposed to go to Curacas (sp?) but it was deemed unsafe.

Talk about 'unsafe'...the soldiers meet you at the dock with machine guns in Cartegena, Columbia, and escort you on your excursions too!

I agree Sue, I wouldn't have traveled in Cartegena without a tour guide. We hired a local and they were about to back off the salespeople. It reminded me of our Guatemala experience.

Jamaica is OK but it's just a real hassle to move around. Guess we're used to it as we've been there many times. I don't get off the ship unless I really want something there.
