How will the new luggage requirements impact what you will pack for your next cruise?

I just do not want to fool with carrying luggage on the plane. This past February, we were able to make it with 3 checked bags and I'm afraid that's the best we can do. So that means paying for one bag. Packing for warmenr climates will be easier - lighter clothing. I'm concerned about packing for this September's Alaska cruise - it won't be shorts and short sleeve shirts.

I got an email today (from United) that United and Continential airlines will be honoring each other's miles, and "offering" more flights etc. So I now wonder what this will mean and how it will impact the luggage situation?

As for our packing habits, I know that I overpack. So now I will be forced to "economize". Gone will be the unlimited of "what do I want to wear" tonight? I agree that the colder climate cruises are going to be harder to plan ahead for. Not only will this mean more laundry on the ship, but it will also mean lots of basic black!

We usually cruise out of Florida but if we don't we'll pack less and use the ships laundry if we need to. I have to fly to NY next month and I'm still trying to figure this one out.

Each cruise we get better at not over packing. Last cruise we had three checked bags and each with a carry-on. Think we can get it down to two bags. Its a too many shoes things. Still working on the guilty party!

Not much choice - we will be away from home for over two weeks this time - but I usually pack things I can get a couple of wearings out of and for formal nightit's the same slacks and shoes just different tops. It's just like another tax anyway lol.

I thought I packed light for our 10 night cruise back in March, but still didn't use all of the clothes I brought. So I'm really going to make sure to pack as light as possible next time!

Luckily we can drive to Galveston. If 4 of us had to fly, well we just might have to do the "layered" theory and wear a couple of outfits when we board the plane!
