Ensenada - Never even thought about getting off. Never entered our mind

San Juan - One time Jerry was really sick and we both stayed in. He stayed in the cabin, I went and did stuff on the ship. Nice and quiet/ We knew, however, that we would be returning to San Juan within the next six months on another cruise so we didn't feel quite so bad.

Ochos Rios - Been there two times and have already done more than I care to ever do there again. So, if we happen to take a cruise that stops in Ochos Rios, we won't bother getting off.

We have returned EARLY from lots of ports. Never thought twice about doing that, either.

We have carried our bags off the ship many times, rather than put them out the night before. We like doing that, and not having to wait for our colors to be called. We have never carried the bags ON the ship.

We have never stayed on the ship when in a port. We especially get off in Ensenada, Joey, and head to a specific store that sells stained glass. We've been going there for years, and have quite a nice collection. The man who owns the store even remembers us. After our shopping in that store, though, we head back to the ship. Nothing else in Ensenada we need to do or see.

We've been to Boston by ship three times, and there's plenty to do for ten trips. We haven't been to any other place more than twice. Not surprisingly, we've always gotten off the ship at every port. If nothing else I (Joe) like to stretch my legs on shore. With no more than two stops at any place other than Boston, we have yet to be so bored with any port that we didn't want to see it. We try to schedule cruises so we go mostly to new places, or places worth exploring again.

We've had several times when we intentionally got back to the ship early, and two times on our river cruise when almost everyone else was on an optional tour (both to places we'd been to on land vacations), leaving us almost alone on the ship. That was a lot of fun. There also have been several times when I went back into a port after lunch, while Joan stayed on the ship; and one time when the reverse happened.
