MarcyandJames
We've cruised over Thanksgiving 2007 (not realizing that when we booked the cruise). Flights back home over Thanksgiving weekend were tough - cost wise and cancellation wise. Airlines were trying to fill the planes and weren't successful. Every time we turned around, there was another email telling us that such and such flight had been changed. Boiled down to more than a 4-hour layoff in Dallas' airport. December 2005 we completed a cruise by the 17th. The ship had already begun decorating of Xmas. Trees and bulbs all over the place. Very beautiful. So, no matter what the reason, enjoy the fact that you're getting a gonga deal, going on vacation, and getting away over the holidays. They are too stressful as it is. Here Here to that Debbie. For me its far less stressful to go on a cruise than face all the holiday running around. Plus it's nice going some place warm in the winter. They have changed our flights twice so far... we saved a ton by coming back on New Years Day (late)vs the day after or before..
DebbieandJerry
Joey, I would just look at it as January 1, 2009. At least, that's how we did over Thanksgiving.
Rat
Joey, I've been on a few holiday sailings and every one of them were sold out. I'm really surprised that your sailing is selling slowly with such a reasonable fare and great itinerary.
55ChevyLady
the reason I looked at holiday cruises was bec. the girls would be out of school and Jerry would have some extra time off and wouldn't have to take so many vac. days . but then when I priced them! well I soon found out everybody must want to go then bec. their kids are out of school and they have some time off... So by going 2 weeks later, which is actually my wedding anniversary, January 15th, and I could save over $2400.00, I decided the girls could just miss a week of school! I know!! just basic economics to the cruise lines I guess...supply and demand and they adjust their prices accordingly same in the summer, I don't want to go in the summer (too hot) which is good on my pocketbook but for the girls to go I will have to take them out out school...its just a case of spend the money or miss school. agentjoey
I have always heard the Holiday cruises sale way ahead of time eventhough the fares are much higher. I think right now the economy and people's checkbooks have slowed things a little taking in consideration the difference in fares during holidays and the other costs associated with holidays. Just my 2cents
