boba
We attended a presentation to join a travel co. group, which we did not join. We received a free cruise. I received a form yesterday which says to send taxes and port charges to this co. called CERTS WORLDWIDE. We expected to pay this and tips but they want the money and then they'll send cruises to choose from. We already know it's a 5 nighter from Bayonne to Bermuda. Has anyone done this or heard of it. Thanks.
deb1220
I never have. It almost sounds too good to be true. I'd be very cautious if I were you and find out more details before you send any money!
rogue
I would suggest that you check it out very carefully before sending any money. As the old saying goes, if it seems too good to be be true, it probably isn't. Now I know that I'm a sceptic, so you can take what I say with a grain of salt, but doing your due diligence is never a bad thing. I hope that it is on the up-and-up, and you get a great cruise for a pittance, but like I said, I would be sceptical.

MarcyandJames
I got one from Royal Cruises, which I'd never heard of, and I threw it out. Be careful.

DebbieandJerry
I, too, am always leary of the "free" stuff. Sometimes you're just better off playing the coverall BINGO on ship for that free cruise.
Suzila
As many of you know, my hobby is entering sweepstakes, so I am not one who is leery of free stuff. I've received many thousands of dollars worth of prizes, trips, etc over the years. We've never received anything from this company you're talking about, but we have gone to presentations where we've received 'free' weekend trips to Vegas and other locations of our choosing. Sometimes they were completely free, sometimes we sat through a timeshare presentation and had to pay the taxes. However!, we've never had to pay taxes up front...only when we were checking out of the hotel where they put us up. Now, all the companies we've ever dealt with in regards to free vacations were American companies. I also Googled CERTS WORLDWIDE and everything that came up is from a foreign company. I wouldn't send money to a foreign company under any circumstances...it's 'almost' a given it's a scam.
