when we were there in January of 07 it was just a sleepy town waking up... we walked to the end of the pier and just played on the beach.. you will be greeted by locals with limited english that will invite you to sit "free" in their lounge chairs.. or rent their water ski jets.. very reasonable.. just a fun beach day.. water is pristine
