hazelson
Looks like jeans are allowed in the dining rooms at dinner and the look for special evenings is now "Cruise Elegant". Should make packing lighter :o) Cruise Casual Dining Dress Code: Gentlemen - Sport slacks, khakis, jeans (no cut-offs), dress shorts (long), collared sport shirts; Ladies - Casual dresses, casual skirts or pants and blouses, summer dresses, Capri pants, dress shorts, jeans (no cut-offs). Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Casual dinner for ladies and gentlemen: gym shorts, basketball shorts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, cut-off jeans, and sleeveless shirts for men. Cruise Elegant Dining Dress Code: Gentlemen - Dress slacks, dress shirts. We also suggest a sport coat. If you wish to wear suits and ties or tuxedos, by all means we invite you to do so. Ladies - Cocktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts and blouses; if you‘d like to show off your evening gowns, that's great too! Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Elegant dinner for ladies and gentlemen: shorts, T-shirts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, jeans, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men, sportswear, and baseball hats. Well it will be a very cold August day in Arkansas when I wear jeans in the dining room! Heck, not even my best jeans!

cruisetarp
This is one trend I sincerely hope the other lines don't follow. We really enjoy "dressing to the nines" for a special evening once in awhile

PATJUD
I do agree - dressing to the nines is great and everyone looks fantastic. HOWEVER: With the airlines charging for suitcases as they are - the formal wear does take up more room - so it may have to be a thing of the past - requiring formal wear. That doesn't mean that you and your party can't dress formally if you want to do so. Why would one care what the rest of the people are doing about dress? You and your party can dress up or dress down - suit yourself.

Judson its just that we feel that the ones that "choose" to ignore the dress code of the evening detracts from the over all ambience of the evening... sailingrose
I agree Marylou, I hope the other lines don't follow suit........part of the cruise experience is dressing for formal night. Nothing better then a man in a tux or a suit and tie!

DebbieandJerry
Can you even fit into your jeans after a few days on board? I have a hard enough time fitting in to the "relaxed" clothes, I can't imagine trying to squeeze into a pair of jeans. I, agree, I like dressing up. It's something we don't do in Tucson.
