Great question which has got me a case of the giggles!

In the spare bedroom, tossed on the spare bed (yeah, like you can even see it's a bed) are 4 suitcases, a "makeup" case and all of the clothes that I wore on the last cruise that are waiting to be ironed. The night before we leave, out comes the ironing board and I start ironing away. Don't know why I bother. My clothes are totally wrinkled even if I did iron. Do you think it's cause they are on the bed for over a year?

In the closet in the spare bedroom are the clothes that went to the cleaners. They still have the plastic bags over them. Again, the night before the cruise, Jerry starts trying on the pants, hoping that they will still zipper and button. Do you think he would try them on a few weeks in advance? No ----. He is bound and determined to fit his 36" waist into his 34" pants. Since this happens every cruise, I don't get upset and/or rattled. Worse case scenario, he wears his shirts out (just like I do).

In the middle bathroom are all of the cruise toiletries that I pack. But, now that some of you have suggested those plastic containers, I might just go to Target and get one. I do need to replace the sunscreen that I bought for our 1993 cruise (and still use). I'm guessing that it has lost it's effectiveness.

I thought I was an organized freak ... Some of you really have me beat!

We've had three cruises when we've missed a port due to bad weather: Minorca and Corsica on Mediterranean cruises on Windstar, and St. George's on a Bermuda cruise on Celebrity.

We didn't receive any compensation for any of the missed ports. Corsica was replaced by Villefranche, which turned out to be the highlight of the trip when we took an excursion to St. Paul de Vence. Instead of Minorca, we had a miserable, rocky day at sea in Mistral winds.

When we couldn't sail from Hamilton to St. George, Bermuda, the ship lost its berth, and had to tender. Unfortunately, the weather was so bad that they couldn't use the tenders most of the time, so we were stuck on the ship, 200 yards from Paradise (Hamilton) and not able to get there. We've decided that any future trips to Bermuda will be land trips.
