Suzila
How much would you estimate port fees to be on a 5 day Royal Caribbean cruise to the Caribbean? A friend has a chance to go on her first cruise for 'free', and just has to pay the port fees, for which they are asking $199 total for two people. Does that sound about right? Does that sound high? What do you think? I don't usually think about port fees...when we book a cruise, they are included in the quote price of the cruise. Thanks in advance.... JoeyandDavid
I find the Port "Fees" to be some what arbitrary.. i can check on a cruise at one price and taxes and port fees are one price price goes in a different direction either up or down and the fees also change much more dramatically then what would obviously seam normal.... 199 for a 5 nighter? i think that's fair..maybe a little high but fair!! rogue
For a 5 day Western Caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean, the "Taxes ans Fees" are $161 for 2 people. That is on an interior cabin. Usually, when there is a sweepstakes, the fine print says you have to pay the taxes and port charges. If they have a higher category cabin, then maybe it's close. JohnG
Thanks, you two...exactly the info I needed. Pricing consists of the cruise fare, the port charges, govt taxes, and fuel surcharge. A 5 nighter would likely have $119-$159 in port charges, $30-$50 in taxes, and about $9 per person per day fuel surcharge, depending on the cruise
