We usually use a TA who is a neighbor and friend. We have had zero problems when using her. She's been on lots of ships herself, and gives us good advise. She works for one of the large agencies, and has gotten us some great rates because her company has reserved some blocks of rooms. On our cruise next year (Connie goes Crazie), we're using JohnG, and he's been great.

We've used the same one for most of our cruises. He used to be local to us, but a number of years ago moved to Miami and opened up a place there. We still keep in touch with him and research our cruises on his website, then call him to make plans. He always gets back to us immediately with the info we need, and many times has been able to upgrade us and get great deals for us. Once when we planned a high school graduation cruise for our kids and their friends, he asked if we could possibly move the date one week, and told us he 'would get us a good deal' if we could do it. We did, and his 'good deal' turned out to be a free cruise for all of us. That's what I call a 'good deal'.

When our (two) kids were married, we called him to make arrangements for their honeymoon cruises. He was flabbergasted when we told him they were getting married. he said he remembered when we used to sit in front of him in his office and the boys would be under his desk, playing 'fort'. Both our sons have used him in the three years since their weddings, so it's a 'family tradition' now!

I had an internet travel agent for many years but as he got bigger the service got poorer so I decided I could do all the booking myself for RCI since I have lots of knowledge about their ships and I have a special # to call to book.

For everything else I use John and so far so good!
