jacketwatch
Are there excursions one can take while in transit as opposed to port excursions? Princess has not posted the excursion availability yet? Thank you. Larry
DebbieandJerry
Larry, I don't fully understand your question.
jacketwatch
Are there excursion while transiting the canal itsel as opposed to the usual shore excursions while in port? I saw this somewhere else and I'm thinking that maybe the ship stops for a while in the canal, you exit, go zip lining or something like that. Its a bit unclear to me as well but it was mentioned to me so I am hoping someone here knows about this.
sailingrose
Larry when we did the partial transit the ship stopped in Gatun Lake and passengers were tendered to shore excursions, then the ship transited back through the locks and docked. I seem to recall that at the The Gatun Locks some lines stop for a small window of opportunity.. I may be wrong.. but during the actual transit itself i don't think so
jacketwatch
Maybe that is the answer. Thanks Joey. If I find out more I'll post it. Larry
DebbieandJerry
When we went through the Canal in November 2007, we didn't stop to let people on/off. Perhaps it's different with each vessel.

jacketwatch
It seems that for full transit tours there is not getting off but as stated if you do a partial transit you can do the Lake Gatun excursion.
