Biggest Pet Peeve

When you are on a cruise... Is there one thing that really just bugs the heck out of you?...It could be something the crew does or doesn't do.. is it something other passengers may or may not do... what is the one thing...that you have no control over .. no matter how hard you try ..that just "aggravates" you..

Joey - you are coming up with some great questions but you need to answer them as well.

My biggest pet peeve are rude people, especially people who are rude to the crew and expect them to drop everything to cater to their every wish.

MaryLou I agree with you RUDE PEOPLE. They act like they are the only people on the ship. Encountered a few on our cruise last year.

ok ok... I will answer

My biggest pet peeve is the parents that seem to have no control of their children..they let them run in the buffet and stick their grimy little hands all over the cookies and other food items and then not take any...

I also agree with that. Rude people can really bring the whole cruise ambiance down. People complaining about little things is another thing that's quite annoying

Yes that is true Howard, but let me play devils advocate for a second ..don't you find what you consider "little things" can be mighty important to another?

I have to agree with all of the above and add a few things. Children "playing" in the elevators....pushing all the buttons and riding up and down with no supervision! People not "dressing" for dinner...if you don't want to dress up - go to the buffet! I also think it's rude to save seats for the shows....if you want a good seat come early and get it like the rest of us! (Boy, did that feel good....thanks Joey for the question  ).

I do understand that small things may be big to other people. I just don't necessarily want to here the negativity when I'm on vacation. Frequently, these people will complain to anyone that they meet. Look, it's only a pet peeve. I will never let it ruin my good time.

Joey - of course things go wrong on a cruise and should be brought to the attention of someone. I think what we are referring to is not the complaining so much as it is the way the people complain.

Loud, obnoxious screaming doesn't accomplish anything and complaining to the room steward about an issue in the dining room accomplishes nothing. Also complaining about something no one has any control of makes no sense to me (weather, missed port)
