We haven't used any public ones in years. We have one (an acrylic spa) built into the floor of our downstairs great room. It's wonderful in the winter time. I do remember when the ship the "Horizon" had an outbreak of Leggionaire's disease that they think was from the hot tub.

Have no desire to sit in a steaming hot bath. My skin is dry enough without the added heat and chemicals

We had one here at home, enjoyed it, A lot of trouble keeping it up. I did like the late night looking up at the stars.

Have not used them on any of our recent cruises, but for no particular reason. We too have one at home, in ground, elevated a little higher that to pool to create a waterfall. So I guess take the uniqueness away for the shipboard ones.
