I also have more than one favorite - Santorini, Mykonos, St. Paul de Vence and the Amalfi Coast.

St. Paul de Vence may be the most beautiful place we've visited on a European cruise. We toured the city on foot, and each of us placed a stone on on Chagall's grave - the traditional Jewish thing to do. It was a bit odd to see a Jewish painter buried in a Catholic cemetary; but Chagall obviously was "blinded by the light", and fell in love with this wonderful medieval city.

We understood "port of call" to mean a port where the ship stops, not a place visited on shore excursions. St. Paul doesn't make our list of favorite ports because, of course, it's not a port. It's about an hour inland from Nice and Villefranche. If you include places visited on shore excursions, St. Paul and Avignon would be on our list.

Oh Joey I absolutely fell in love with St Paul de Vence - and i should have also said Eze.... another favorite of ours.

st Paul is where we picked up that lovely black truffle infused olive oil.. whew that was good!!

We got to EZE late the sun had gone down.. so I really considered that we missed it.. just another reason to go back...

Oh yes Joey - you have to go to Eze, it's just as interesting as St. Paul de Vence. Actually this last cruise we spent the day in Villefranche and loved that seaside town.... it's also worth it to explore. Having seen these awesome towns, the one I least liked at this port of call was Monaco - just a regular touristy town for us.

we were able to walk around .. but most of the stores were closed except for that "candle or soap" shop right above the parking lot...do you know the one i am referring to?
