Panama Canal excursion in Puntarenas, Costa Rica

Hi Guys: Can anyone recommend Charlie Soto or comment on his services? I have been in contact with this and he seems quite nice. I would like an opinion from someone who has used him. Thank you. Larry

Can't help with Charlie Soto, but have you visited Puntarenas before? If not, I'd recommend that you definitely take a tour of some kind. There is not a lot to see in town, it gets very untidy right at the end of the pier and the local beach is pretty poor. We've been there three times and taken the rain forest tour, the tree top gondola tour and a trip to Sarchi. We will be there again in April and we intend to take the eco-river tour. Once outside of the port, it's a beautiful place to visit.

Thank you. No we have not been there B4. Right now I am leaning towards a ships excusrions which combines a train ride with a boat tour thru the mangroves. We definitely have to do something! Larry

We loved this port of call. As jbond says - nothing in town. We did the gondola through the canopy including a local lunch - it was outstanding.... very beautiful. I loved the Toucans!
