Ohhhh...right up the east side of Florida. Everyone gets wet. Please watch it carefully, those of you in the neighborhood.

For Joan's sister, who lives in Sarasota, it's worse than that: right up the WEST side of Florida. So far, the sister is very calm about it.

I think by nature Floridians tend to take these storms in stride better than the rest of us..

Can I claim that I was standing on my head? You're right, West is on the left side of the map.

Yeah we do - take it better. What else can we do? Right now it looks like Tampa is right on the projected path - I flipflip between NOAA site and Weather Underground which most times I find more helpful and more accurate, believe it or not. A lot of people I know in Florida prefer this site too.

Rose... yeah remember Charlie - it was on track to come right into the mouth of Tampa Bay and we were sitting glued to the TV when all of a sudden, 2-3 hours before it was due to hit us, it veered West and hit Port Charlotte, we never even got a drop of rain or a bit of a breeze from it, yet it carved a path of devastation where it traveled through.

Just a few cans of food and the milk in the box.......We always stock batteries and have boards for our windows. We don't own a generator.......we borrowed one 4 years ago after Charlie and I hated the noise and the risk of running it. You should have seen how happy we were to have AC again!!!! We were lucky, only out 4 days.
