Just received my Quarterly E-Magazine from Princess - all about 2009-2010 cruises. Wow there are lots of new things happening in Princess. Here I wanted to mention that if you do a Panama Canal cruise that is longer than 15 days you will spend 2 days on the Canal. One whole day docked in Panama to explore..... sounds wonderful!!! We've done this trip (17 days) twice and wished we had spent a day in Panama...... now we can!

Here's the article:

Introducing the

“2-day Canal Experience” —

Discover more of Panama

Starting with 2009 sailings, Princess will off er

the “2-day Panama Canal Experience” on all

Panama Canal sailings 15-days or longer. After

transiting one or two sets of locks, you’ll spend

a day in Fuerte Amador, giving you time to

explore the diverse attractions of the Panama

region before completing your full transit on the

second day. Ride the Panama Canal Railway,

tour Soberania National Park Rainforest or

visit an authentic Embera Indian village. These

itineraries also include calls in colorful ports

throughout the Caribbean, Central America

and the Mexican Riviera. Sail on one of four

extraordinary ships, including two that were

custom-built for transiting the Panama Canal —

Island Princess® and Coral Princess.® Plus, with

the highest percentage of balcony staterooms

of any other cruise line in the region, Princess

gives you the best vantage point to see the

Canal’s impressive locks.
