zebra
Another early bird here! The vacation starts for us when we leave home. We like to get to the ship early, like 10:30 - 11:00 and except for Carnival cruises.... all the others we have been hustled onboard almost immediately, or soon after. We like to have an early lunch onboard and then spend a couple of hours familiarizing ourselves with the ship, then it's relax time on the balcony and unpacking until muster. Shari2
We usually do a pre-cruise stay for a night or two, especially if it's in winter, since we are coming from cold country. We try to get to the port fairly early, but not early enough to lose sleep. LOL
boba
We board as soon as they let us. The cruise starts as soon as I board.

Gregswife
We have never been onboard so early that we could not go directly to our cabin. We are normally at a hotel the night before embarkation and check-out time is 11:00. On our last cruise, we checked out at 11:00. We had met our freinds, who we were sailing with at the hotel the day before as so we left our car there at the hotel and all piled into their's and went for a tour of Galveston. Made a stop at the drug store and a bit of sight seeing before they took us back to get our car and we finally headed down to the port, probably around 1:00 or 1:30 by that time. There were long lines but they moved quickly so we were probably onboard within 30 minutes of arriving.
