zebra
Me again - this time @ .55 cents a minute.... ouch! Our first two days were beautiful weather and smooth sailing. Then last night we hit the rough stuff... 9 foot swells and 55 knot winds. The winds are still 55 knots but the swells are only 6 foot. It has been raining since late last night and they have lashed down the chairs on the deck - it looks like a hurricane blowing out there.... but the ship is so beautifully stable that if you didn't have wondows to see out you would be none the wiser. Thanks to Hanna! Captain Johnny has done a superb job skirting around the storm... and he's a hoot! Tomorrow we are in St. Thomas - 50% chance of rain but the bad weather from Hanna will be behund us. We don't actually have anything planned because we've been to these islands 7 times and have done all the touristy sightseeing stuff, so the weather doesn't make a single bit of difference to us. What a gorgeous ship. I can definitely say that this is the prettiest ship I have ever been on. The staff are amazing.... the friendliest we have ever encountered. The food is good and plentiful (as usual. Tony is ready to take another RCI cruise and I think this has fast become our favorite cruise line, or on a par with Princess in the No. 1 spot. There are so many activities, I can't keep up - although I have been trying to!! Tony has read two books already and I know every nook and cranny of this ship already We decided to keep our table for two in the dining room.... it's easier on Tony because he is a little hard of hearing. Tonight we have booked for the Mystery Dinner Theater at the Portofino Restaurant and then the following night we have tickets to the Ice Show. So weather makes absolutely no difference to us in fact we have too much sun in Florida - and this is a nice change. Oh yes - our favorite hangout is the Promenade deck. We either sit at the coffee shop or Vintages Wine Bar and people watch...... such fun!!! I'll speak to you again later in the cruise....... coloradocruisers
Wow, 9 foot swells. Glad that's behind you and the ship was up to the task. Can you imagine doing that 30 years ago? Sounds like you're making the most of it. Hope that by tomorrow you're looking at smooth seas.
