Are you an Expert?

We are Diamond Plus with RCI and Platinum Elite with Princess, but about the only thing that I'm certain of when it comes to cruise lines is that it varies considerably by ship and itinerary. We have sailed Splendour of the Seas four times, four different itineraries and four different experiences.

I would say AMEN to JBond....... We are platinum on Princess and RCI/Celebrity and I can tell you a whole lot more about Princess than other cruise lines. But I think most of us can agree, the last ship we cruised on is the freshest in our minds, so we could probably answer more questions about that ship than any other.

No expert here either but I always check the RC forums on all the boards I go to. I guess that's my line. I'm trying to be an expert, but they keep making them faster than I can sail on them. :cool2:

I don't know that i was let's say an expert.... but i think i stay pretty much on top of Celebrity!

Me too. Celebrity.

But the more I find out the less I seem to know......

Or did I just get old and forget...

As you can see from our signature, our cruises have been spread out over several cruise lines and even more ships. We've only been on one ship, the Wind Surf, more than once; and that one was substantially refurbished and modified between our 2004 B2B in the Med and our 2007 Caribbean cruise. If, as expected, we book a second cruise on the Seven Seas Mariner, we expect it to have changed between 2005 and 2009.

In short, we definitely are not experts.

Well I like to think after 6 Carnival cruises I know a bit about them. But an expert-no! Because things change on cruise ships every month or so, it's difficult to give an honest up to date appraisal.

The only thing that I feel comfortable talking about is the experience that I had on each ship. We have tried different lines and different ships for a variety of reasons. I always try to remember the reason (fit in to vacation/time off, cost, itinerary).

For instance, Carnival was a HUGE party ship when we first sailed with them in the early 1990's. I think they've toned that image down a whole lot.

I always thought Celebrity and Royal Caribbean were out of our price range. That also has changed.
