zebra
Oh what a tragedy! Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.... In April we did this itinerary on the Carnival Legend - we contacted cavetuving.com to do a private excursion through them, I know Ed & Roe used them as well. They told us on email how much better they were than the "ship's excursion" because these poor people are pushed off into the river inidividually and left alone until the end of the tubing where they pick them up and load them into busses again. He said to us "you will see". OH my this was not sales talk... all these poor Carnival people were tubing through the dark caverns and caves ON THEIR OWN - and when they got hung up on rocks they had to get off their tubes and rectify the situation. With our company they link 5 of us together, and each "crocodile" was led by one of the excursion leaders - outstanding service and outstanding excursion. I can see how an accident could happen when you are left alone, and especially now that they have had so much rain. Oh my............ RNSANE
I feel so bad for that husband and his family. I cannot even fathom the trauma they are experiencing. It is difficult enough when one dies from natural causes but, an incident such as this, which should not have happened, is so overwhelming. TheSkipper
Iackie is correct we loved our Cave Tubing in Belize. But I do recall our guide telling us that sometimes they had to cancel when the water was too high. Sounds like someone pushed the envelope too far. Very tragic,
