lashl
We are back in KC. Talked to a couple who were on this excursion. They said three people were swept off a rope just crossing the river and had to be rescued before they even started tubing. Jackie is right, they sent the people off without a guide. All other cave tubing excursions cancelled because of the fast moving, high water. We received a letter while on board with a general explanation and stated that Carnival is investigating the accident and the excursion has been suspended. I have been on many excursions where I thought the saftey measures were excellent. Still can't believe they let this happen.
TheSkipper
Gppd Grief: That rope across the river is also the spot where you end up and get out of your tube and go ashore after the event!! If people were having trouble crossing those guides should have bagged it right there. We watched the Carnival Excursion being launched as we floated by their launch site and they were just turned loose while we were connected in group of six and each group was led by a guide. IMHO, this was an accident that did not have to happen.
