SDJen
I am hoping someone out there can help. I am going to Cabo in late January on the Carnival Elation. One of the excursions I am most interested in is the whale watching trip. Has anyone done the excursion through Carnival or the one through ShoreTrips? What size is the boat? Is it worth it? I would like to be on a larger boat for this because my travelmate is prone to seasickness and not up for one of the zodiac boats. Thanks in advance! TheSkipper
Book on the pier with one of the glass bottom boats. We were in one last year and got some great whale video and digital pics. However the boat is not too large, but a lot larger than a zodiac.
DebbieandJerry
We've done both: Glass Bottom Boat and Whale Watching Excursion Ship in Cabo. I liked the excursion better because the people on it were there to find whales. The Glass Bottom Boat was more of a let me show you what lies beneath the ocean floor. We saw whales and dolphins when we were sailing to/from Cabo as late as March so I'm sure that you will see them just by standing outside. But it truly is something to be there right next to them as they surface! I would book it (either through the ship or ShoreTrips) before you get on the ship. It fills up quickly. You can always cancel and get your money refunded if something comes up (bad weather, sea sickness, fear).

jobster71
I wonder if it will be too late by spring break. Would there still be dolphins around, even if the whales are gone? Or does the dolphins stay all year?
DebbieandJerry
I don't think it will be too late. As you get closer to Cabo you should see lots of marine life. Love the photo avatar. Great haircut, too.
jobster71
"Love the photo avatar. Great haircut, too." Yea, the haircut is really easy to maintain. He he he. Yea our stop is very short. Just enough time for a little shopping and maybe whale/dolphin watching.
waf125
We're going to be in Cabo in February so I have been doing some research and found Pez Gato. They have catamarans they use instead of zodiac boats. Their website is pezgato.com, and it is $40 pp. Seem to get good reviews from cruisers.
