Great review, Howard!!

We also went on the Scenic Railroad tour in St. Kitts. It remains one of my all time favorite excurisions along with the tour of St. John. I also agree with you about the narrow roads - YIKES!

Great review Howard! Wonder why disembarkation was such a mess........they did it so well last year on the Coral. Sure hope they get it right for me on the Emerald.

Can you tell me what you get to see on the train in St. Kitts??? We are going there next month for the 1st time and I've been reading mixed reviews of the excursion.

Can you tell me what you get to see on the train in St. Kitts??? We are going there next month for the 1st time and I've been reading mixed reviews of the excursion.

The train goes mainly around part of the coast. There are a few other islands, quite a few small towns and lots of beaches. There is also lots of sugarcane. You can get the feel as to how the real people live on this island. You get to see the workers in the fields, and the children in school. On the train, there is a group of children who sing, and someone constantly serving drinks. They also give out some type of coconut and sugar cookies that were very good. To us, this was a pretty unique way to see the real island, not just another beach and tourist shops.
