rogue
Stretch limo seems like it was a good idea. The Brooklyn (Red Hook) port area is not the greatest I've ever departed from. Later, This is the second time we left from Brooklyn. Getting through the lines took about 1/2 hour the 1st time, and about 3 minutes this time. Traffic getting there isn't great, but is much better than getting to the Manhattan terminal. It isn't a pretty area for a terminal, but if you look out into the harbor, there isn't many better places to leave from.
TheSkipper
Howard: Our cruise out of Brooklyn aboard the Crown Princess was the year it opened, and the area really was a dump. It looks far better in the picture I posted than it did back then. I honestly don't recall the check-in process, so it could not have been too bad. You are certainly correct about the view out into the harbor. Got lots of great video as we departed. Our biggest problem was getting from LaGuardia to the port. There was some kind of celebration going on in Little Italy and I did not think we would ever get to the ship.
GottaCruz
I enjoyed your review, Howard. Glad to read that you and Cindy enjoyed your cruise in spite of a few negatives. Two and a half hours for dinner? Wow, I could certainly do a lot of damage during that time. I see that you clarified that it was Cindy that made sure you had time to shop in St. Thomas. Good job, Cindy. Great review, Howard. Thanks for posting it.
