rogue
Excellent question. Many are already consolidated as we know however I do wonder about NCL as a stand alone. I mean they have already cancelled production of their new ship (F3?). Only time will tell if they ride out the economic storm or have to consolidate to avoid complete failure. Also the top tier lines are offering discounts like bever before so I wonder if they are hurting as well. NCL is not a stand alone. It was bought up about 10 years ago by Star Cruises. This is the third largest cruise line in the world

rogue
They own Star Cruises, NCL, NCL America, and Orient Lines. Star Cruises are all of those ships with SuperStar in their names.
Peddler
I feel you will see several ships begin to sail "not full" due to the economy...airlines fly not full...trains slide over the rails not full. I think it is a sign of the times.
Longboysfan
Well ridership on mass transit is up about 7% this year. Even after the gas prices came down. I think by the end of January we will know where the US is going. For now the cruise lines will price reduce to get people on the ships. They have a debt load to sservice and need bodies on the ship. DebbieandJerry
I really thought that most of the lines have already consolidated. Wouldn't surprise me, however, if a few of the bigger lines got even bigger. I still maintain that the cruise is the best value for your vacation dollar. I'd hate to see that disappear.
