coloradocruisers
Joey, what always tips the scale for us between a land vacation and a cruise is the fact that on a cruise, Sharon and I can obtain some freedom from the kids. Don't get me wrong, we love them; but on a cruise they can do their thing while we do our thing and everyone is happy.
JoeyandDavid
Falina, I'm with you. No cooking and cleaning for a week. Joey, I love your list. deb1220
When friends have asked me this question I usually say, "Where else could you go, where you unpack once, go to sleep and wake up somewhere different every morning?" I also say you have to experience it to get what is so great about it. I too like the idea that you don't have to worry about your kids while onboard. There are so many activites for them that you can do things as a couple and there are many family-type things to do too! And of course all the pampering doesn't hurt either
coloradocruisers
let me ask a question Kevin.. have you ever had trouble finding your kids on board? Once. It was the last day of our last cruise, and my younger son (he was 12 at the time) did not meet us where he was supposed to as we waited for deboarding. It was because he didn't listen when I told my sons where to meet, and because he didn't stick with his older brother (who did listen). We searched, waited, and searched. Finally, I heard a page over the intercom, called the purser, and a staff member brought him to the place we were waiting. When they were little, we kept them on a shorter leash though, and didn't have any problems.
TheSkipper
Like Jackie, I have a hard time coming up with a single reason. Simply telling them we have cruised 52 times usually tells the story. Other than disembarkation, I can't think of anything I don't enjoy about cruising. Jackie and Joey: Did somebody say "Mexican?" That always works for me. Kind of strange when I think about it for a kid born in Pennsylvania. Hello Jenn: Can you hear us though all that snow??? Nothing like being up to you butt in the white stuff. Of course you can always make some snow angels. Cheryl: Enjoy you time alone. I'll be doing the same thing (I hope). In truth, I'll probably be on the phone every couple hours to see how things are going at Stanford. Later,
