TheSkipper
There are currently 37 new ships on order for the world's major cruise companies, all scheduled to launch over the next four years. In 2009, nine ships will embark on their maiden voyages for seven different cruise lines. Eight of these ships will be new-builds, and one is an existing ship that will be extensively refurbished and renamed.
elfed
Yes, I look forward tremendously to reading about these. Despite my fear of saturating the cruise market, I think a lot of people will try cruising for the first time. I love all kinds of ships especially the cruise ships. I usually follow their construction right to the christening. Regards, James.

DebbieandJerry
Can't wait to see what new and interesting things will "appear" on these ships! This is good news for the cruising industry. They wouldn't be building them if there wasn't a need (or a future need.)
lashl
Wow, 37 new ships. That is room for 100,000 additional people. Sounds like we may get the benefit of more competition very soon.
