agentjoey
Looks as though November 2, 2009 might be the Holiday's last sailing. I have sailed her twice. I know that the Jubilee and Celebration have been liquidated from the fleet leaving the Holiday as the only Holiday class ship. Anyone have any information on this? Could it be true?? DebbieandJerry
Carnival just sent out their "magazine". No where did it mention the older ships. It did mention that a number of ships were being dry docked and refurbished to add more balconies!! It also mentioned that they were bringing back New Orleans as a port. May be they are just quietly retiring the Holiday.
agentjoey
Yea it seems to be the case. I kind of hate it. Holiday was the second ship ever built for Carnival following the Tropicale. (this of course doesn't count the ones they bought and outfitted when they first began) It seems as though all the lines are building bigger ships which is ok but I would like to see a 50,000 ton ship built that is nice and modern. I do believe there is a market for these types of ships. I'm just glad I had the chance to sail her a couple of times under the name Holiday. I'm sure she will move to another line as the others did. agentjoey
OH yea New Orleans is already a port. The Fantasy is sailing from there and has been for some time. After the Fantasy which is now the Carnival Fantasy moves to Mobile the Carnival Triumph will be moving to New Orleans. I may be taking a 7 day Bahamas cruise from there. It and Mobile are the closest cruise ports from here.
