sailingrose
I found another possibility for a flight.........Continental has a slightly later flight from Barcelona which we really like, I just think 10am is a little too tight. Only issue is it goes into Newark and their is only 2 1/2 hrs between flights........the upside to Newark is Continental has the international and domestic in the same terminal and that could save us. I have got to get this figured out as it's driving me nuts!!!! LOL Howie is of no help at this time of the year......all he can think of is taxes! Looks like I'm 100% on my own until April. We did book a private tour in Rome with 2 other couples with Rome in a Limo........Going to be a long but wonderful day! We are getting a private tour guide for the Vatican in addition to the tour. http://www.romeinlimo.com/rome.htm in case anyone is interested. At least I have one port taken care of now. sailingrose
More help needed......... What did you do about money???? Did you convert to Euros before leaving, use an ATM, use Credit cards, etc. I know they usually charge a percentage to use your cards in Europe. Or did you do a combination of all these??? Trying to figure out the best way to handle this. I was thinking of getting a new credit card just for this trip with a low credit line so I minimize our risk. Help what did you do???? (If you prefer to answer privately please PM me.)
JoeyandDavid
we used the ATM on land.. we brought home 55 Euros.. That will be enough to get us to the hotel on our next trip
zebra
We used the ATM at the airport and one or twice in other ports...... most of the time we just charged everything to our credit card - we prefer to do this in foreign countries, even our trips to South Africa. We don't like walking around in Europe with too much cash in our pockets..... beware of pick pockets!

sailingrose
Thanks Joey and Jackie. I'm concerned because all our CC's have high limits on them (more then we'll need) so wouldn't want to take that chance and all our ATM cards are attached to more then 1 account which could also cause a problem. I've read all the watch your wallet threads on the critical board.......thanks for the heads up.
JoeyandDavid
We photo copied all cards both front and back which is kept in the safe in the stateroom.. On shore days we would take only the card that we anticipated needing that day and a few euros for tipping and small purchases...once again leaving any excess cash and other cards in the safe we also make copies of our passport ( both passports on one page .. print two copies so each of us will carry both in case one loses theirs..(leaving the original documents in the stateroom safe.)
