Okay, so it's not dinner theater exactly. But it's close.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises is rolling out what's billed as the first reservations-only "dinner-and-a-show" combination on a ship -- an elaborate evening that includes a private gourmet meal followed by an intimate, cabaret-like performance.

The line, which already has tested the concept on the 700-passenger Seven Seas Voyager and its sister ship, the Seven Seas Mariner, says the meals will take place in the Signatures Restaurant found on both ships, and then participants will move to a lounge for the entertainment portion of the experience.

Regent is getting some big names for the performances, including Broadway star K.T. Sullivan; Australian singer Rhonda Burchmore; New York cabaret performer Jeff Hamar; and actress and singer Susan Anton.

As with all entertainment on Regent ships, there is no additional charge for the new “Dinner and a Show” program, though reservations are required and space is limited.
