zebra
Just received the brochure today from Celebrity.. showcasing the Eclipse (a Solstice class ship) which will be launched in 2010 and will be positioned in the Med and the Caribbean. Wow they are churning out new builds... here's hoping they will have the cruisers to fill them.

Wow they are churning out new builds... here's hoping they will have the cruisers to fill them. Plus Celebrity will have 2 more Solstice class ships beyond that. One scheduled for 2011 - Fall and one for 2012 - Fall. But they can, or so I think, a hold on the last two.
Shari2
That's great news that one of the new ships will be in the Mediterranean, Jackie. I would love to do that one of these days.

Which makes me think about what they will do with Mercury and Century when the new builds hit.
DebbieandJerry
Cruise Travel magazine did address Century and Mercury. I think one of them is in Galvelston and is going to have a major overhaul. Since we're sailing on the Mercury the end of this week, I'm guessing that it will stay on the west coast for just a little bit longer. But, I will make sure to ask when I am on the ship. I won't be back until 3/30, so you might have to wait a bit before I can get you the full story. I remember years back when we would cruise and there would be people trying to get you to pre-book on the next cruise right there on the ship. Last few times, they didn't have that. I wonder if Celebrity will do it since they're trying to promote new ships.

But Celebrity has expanded the program - you can blind deposit of $100 now for a cruise. There is no date you have to specify for the booking and it get's you a $100 on board credit. So you win if you think you are ever going to cruise again.
DebbieandJerry
Something for us to look out for when we are on the Mercury later this week. Thanks for the heads up
