This might be a stupid question, but when the large ship goes through that narrow canal, what keeps it from banging into the sides??? Was that you dancing in the dining room? Actually there are "mules" or sort of like mini locomotives on either side on rails that secure lines to the ships and basically escort them thru. This is the only situation where the ships Capt. allows pilots to take control of the ship BTW. Our ship, the Island is called a Panamx ship as is the Ciral because its about as wide as you can get and still is able to traverse the canal which has a width of 110 ft. The ship is 105 ft.
