What was that special moment for you.

I've always thought that when you are really passionate about something, like traveling for example, there is a special moment that crystalizes in you, maybe forever, thats so strong it keeps you returning to relive the magic so to speak. We are relatively new to cruising but not to traveling and for me that special moment was our first real vacation ever, in 1984, to Nassau. We arrived late, around 2300 so my first real look at the Bahamas came the next morning as we drove from our hotel to town. I'll never, ever forget how beautiful the blue and green waters of the ocean and the lush tropial foliage was while listening to the locals speak with their lovely island lilt with reggae music playing in the background. And I've been going back ever since. This was my moment. What was yours?

:cool2: My moment was on my 1st cruise in 2004 on Voyager of the Seas. Wife and I were sitting by the pool, looking out to sea with a frozen fuzzy blue rum thingee and the reggae band started playing "Hotel California" with a reggae beat. I was thinking it can't get any better than this. :cool2:

Our special moment was when we first laid eyes on the beach at Siesta Key. This was in 1996 before we were married. That week at the beach we fell in love. We've been back every year since, except one year when we took the grand kids to Disneyworld.

For me, it was walking onto the ship for the 1st time and entering the atrium. I was dazzled with all of the stained glass and shiny stainless. It was the Nordic Empress. I still feel a similar twinge whenever I walk onto a new ship for the first time.
