deb1220
I always have a glass of wine before dinner. During the day, before dinner, I always have to "sample" the drink of the day and if it's a good one I'll have to have another "sample" or two. And.....I always have one drink during the show in the evening - usually another glass of wine. Man!.....I sound like a lush!
sailingrose
Generally a glass of wine pre-dinner, rarely 2. Funny about the local beer....I'm like that too, must have whatever the local brew is.
Longboysfan
I never worry about the time and if dinner gets in the way of drinking or just the reverse. Only one rule on a cruise - no drinking before noon. Well I broke that rule last cruise - but only 3 times. Well it was a 7 day cruise....... It's not like I drank a lot real quick but the drinks at the parties were just there. and I was still trying to cool off from being in the sun for an hours those days. Then trying to rehydrate myself. I did make sure there were at least two ice cubes in the drinks to provide some water. Well most of the hour was in the hot tub - but I counted that time - and then running about the ship working out in the early AM. Does playing lawn bowling in the shaded area count for being in the sun as we move from one side of the ship to another? I can't remember if i cruise now to drink or to drink because I am on a cruise. It is very confusing. What's in a number 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 9, whatever..... What was the question????? Shari2
I usually have one before dinner, and once in awhile, I'll have a pina colada or drink of the day in the afternoon. If I don't have a drink in the afternoon, I may have 2 before dinner... if I have time. I don't usually drink late in the evening...don't like to feel yukky the next day. I try to keep it to a minimun on the drinks so I can go on my tours and all. I may have one in the evening if I'm listening to music, but usually if I haven't had one earlier. jacketwatch
We may have one but its not a tradition for us. However I MUST have a local beer in every port stop. The funny thing is I seldom drink beer but on a cruise I will have as many beer for its duration as I have for the entire rest of the yr. Larry that is funny you should say that...... 99.7% of the time the only time I have any alcohol is on a cruise..David on the other hand... "what kind of Beeeeeers do you have?" Hopefully someday we can all hoist one together. I look forward to the chance... did I read where your son is the bar person in the family?(jay is it?) It is Jay and he does enjoy the bar on cruises as he's very sociable.
