jacketwatch
Hi guys: we are looking into this cruise for early Oct. Has anyone ever done this cruise before and are there any opinions on this ship? Also if you know can you please tell me if the ship tenders into Portland, Maine or docks? Thank you. cruisetarp
Larry - I can't help you with the ship as we have never sailed on Carnival but some time ago we did the Canada/New England cruise 2 years in a row on RC. It was a great cruise, a big difference from the beaches of the Caribbean but the fall folliage was just beautiful. We went in early October both times. From my notes of those trips it seems we tendered in Bar Harbor but docked in Portland. Hope this helps

I think it docks in Portland too and I know it tenders in Bar Harbour but the Triumph does not go to the latter. If we can get the time off I'l definitely book it. GottaCruz
Larry, can't help with the trip but we love the Triumph. We've been on it twice and her sister ships too. The Deli has great corned beef , pastrami, coleslaw with those comfy booths. ON the opposite side of the ship is the Chinese Restaurant- that's great too. By the back pool, there is the grill and the 24 hour pizzeria is there also.
JohnG
I've done this itinerary twice on RCCL. Ships definitely dock in Portland, right downtown. I, too, think Triumph is in great condition. They have added the large movie screen in the pool area.
GottaCruz
John G, Good to know that the Triumph is still in good condition. The movie screen by pool is a great addition. Hope to sail her again one day.
jacketwatch
Thanks John and Cheryl. I saw somewhere that she was refurbished in 2008 so it must be pretty spiffy. Its good to know about the Chinese restaurant too. Just as soon as our vacation time is appoved I'll book it.
