JoeyandDavid
When we sailed the Mercury in Alaska they began serving eggs benedict not only in the breakfast buffet but also when they tried to do a grand buffet brunch in the dining room ( I wrote about it in our review as well..) During the breakfast hours Celebrity is now offering eggs benedict in their buffet line, which is a great idea in theory but lacks in presentation, when these types of food offerings sit too long the muffins become quite difficult to cut and the eggs turn to a hard boiled stage. They are also served without hollandaise…Very disappointing. Once a cruise they also offer a Brunch in the main dinning room, Once again a wonderful concept but the food loses its quality. We believe they need to rethink this concept. We were told at that time the line was trying the concept out on just one or two ships "Just to see how it worked"...I just wondered are they still serving the eggs benedict in the buffet line and brunch on your sailing? DebbieandJerry
Only at the two brunches in the main dining room. The second brunch replicated most of everything upstairs in the buffet line except for the eggs benedict. They did have a poached egg in a salsa at the buffet line that Jerry tried twice. He said they were cooked perfectly and very tasty. But no hollandaise sauce

DebbieandJerry
Certainly got more people than the late night buffet (which I noticed they did without a lot of the nights). But certainly not something to write home about. To me, it was a combination of their "standard" breakfast and lunch buffet items set up with some ice carvings. We have a hotel in Tucson that puts on a Sunday brunch that knocks your socks off. Standard soup and salads options and that's where it stops. Omelet stations, crepes, waffles, pancakes. Carving station with beef, lamb, ham and turkey (real roasts). Fish stations: cold and hot, from shrimp and crab legs to salmon, herring, lox, etc. Hot entrees, cold entrees, veggies and potatoes galore, breads, pastries, desserts, cheeses, fruits, chocolate fountain (with all the dipping stuff). Coffee, tea, soda, milk, glass of wine or mamosa included. All for $25/person. (Lots of times they advertise a coupon buy one/get one free.)
