TheSkipper
I voted no. But, that having been said, a very good friend of mine spent about two years teaching computer classes aboard ship for Princess. He got to take his wife along and the two of them really saw the world. They would be gone for about three months, then home for a month or so and off to sea again. jacketwatch
I too am a nurse and its tempting to think of a a retirement gig BUT even if I could bring my wife with me there is no way she would stay 9 mos. on a ship. If I was younger and single then maybe but honestly even then I can't imagine having the benefits from a cruise co. that I have from my present employer. So my answer has to be no. We'll have to be content as passengers.

She says that the pay is rotten, but she does get to see the ports that they visit.
jacketwatch
Joey: Thank you. With todays job market its especially good to be an RN, thank God. Roque: Honestly after being an RN for 30 yrs. "rotten pay" = NO WAY. Anyway I suppose there are enough nurses out there who would settle for just being on a ship and the perks of travel. frostyboy64
As i work in the hotel & travel business i have had offers to work on cruiseships and it sounds like fun. But the pay is way below what i made 10 years ago and i think it would put me off cruising being on a ship 24-7. I love cruising to much not to be into taking a cruise anymore.
