DebbieandJerry
Vacations to Go had some incredible prices for BALCONY 7-day (leaving Sunday from LA). There were also some 4 & 5 day "gonga" deals out there. Jerry has to report to jury duty on Tuesday. If not, we were thinking that we would have driven to LA and been on that 5/3 ship

GottaCruz
Wow, that is an incredible deal. It doesn't pay to stay home at that price. So glad you could take advantage of it, Joey. I hope that one day , Wayne and I can take advantage of some good deals. JOey, does that include taxed and port charges too???

DebbieandJerry
You can't stay at a half-way decent hotel and eat mediocre meals for that price. Excellent catch for you, Joey
zebra
Joey - we totally love the ship! You must try and partake of as many of the different activities (sitting ) The staff are awesome and we made so many new friends. Here's another thing. I know you like dining in the dining room. We do too, but this time we chose the 2 formal nights, the 2nd night and the last night in the dining room and the other 3 nights we went to Jade up in the Windjammer. They have table cloths and silver ware and we were attended to non stop by the staff. I love sushi, so I had sushi up there on those evenings and pretty much all the other offerings are exactly what they are serving downstairs, plus, plus, plus. I also drank gallons of green tea, which the one Chinese waiter makes in a special teapot out of 3 bags Green Tea with Passion Fruit, 1 bag Orange Tea and 1 bag Camomile Tea.... it is delicious!! Oh yes, in the Windjammer they don't have V8 and Tomato Juice out on offer, but you can ask your Windjammer waiter and he will bring you a glass of it from the kitchen, in 2 seconds! The omelets are great and we much preferred to have our breakfast upstairs than in the dining room, again personal choice. I could make all sorts of wonderful good choices for my diet. Jade - is the Asian section, so if you like Chinese, Thai or Indian food.... they have great different dishes there every day. Hey I know you are a meat and potatoes person.... have a great burger at Johnny Rockets. I have to mention this too - Americans aren't big on Lamb - but the Lamb Shanks in the dining room (2nd night) are to die for, and that's not just our opinion we heard that all over the ship. Don't forget to go down to Cafe Promenade and have those cookies straight out of the oven with your Cafe Latte!!!

Don't forget to go down to Cafe Promenade and have those cookies straight out of the oven with your Cafe Latte!!! After forty + years as an RN, and eating in hospital cafeterias, I normally don't go to the Windjammer. I much prefer sitting down in the dining room and being served....but, of course, I have so many waiter friends in the Windjammer and, on this May 10th sailing, Sudhir Pillai, my Indian headwaiter friend, who showed me about Mumbai during my ten day stay in 1997, was assigned to breakfasts in the Windjammer so I HAD to go. He totally indulged me and many of my Monarch crew friends were there. Same, of course, in the dining room. We had dinner one night in Chops which was wonderful. Sudhir joined us for dinner as did our friend, the F & B director. I also love Portofino but we didn't dine there this cruise. I love Jade and have only eaten once at Johnny Rocket's - on the Navigator - thought it was fun. For some reason, I preferred the Navigator...maybe because it was the Transatlantic and Europe bound...very few children...not many, either, on this cruise. More international passengers, as well, and I always enjoy that mix.
