Is the fee new? When we were on RCL (which is a number of years ago), we went to JR and ate for no charge/no fee. But it doesn't surprise me if there is a fee. And, there were no coupons -- just long lines.

but what i cant understand is why do they charge for milkshakes.. sodas i will grant you.. do they also charge you for ice cream? or milk?

They charge for milkshakes, because they can. They are good, though.

Joey - good news... we are Platinum too and you will get a coupon book in your stateroom with a coupon for 1 free meal at JR... bummer we didn't try it because it was not Weight Watchers friendly but heard rave reviews onboard.
