mercedes
Royal Caribbean International will send its ships back to Cozumel at the end of this month, with the travel warning against Mexico downgraded. The Freedom of the Seas, the Liberty of the Seas, and the Enchantment of the Seas will all begin calling in Cozumel on sailings that depart on or after May 24. On the West Coast, the Mariner of the Seas will continue its modified itinerary out of Los Angeles to Oregon, Seattle and Victoria, B.C., through its June 14 sailing, before resuming its calls on the Mexican Riviera. Royal Caribbean made its decision shortly after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention changed its recommendation that US travelers avoid Mexico because of the flu outbreak. Carnival Cruise Lines will also resume calls to Mexico, mostly beginning in mid-June. All of the major cruise lines will continue using the advanced health screening methods that went into effect May 1 to prevent any possible flu carrier from boarding a ship. Passengers with possible flu symptoms, including fever, cough, runny nose or a sore throat, may still not be able to sail.
TheSkipper
Good news for our group cruise aboard the Mariner in October. By then everyone will have forgotten about Swine Flu and be ready to return to Mexico.
DebbieandJerry
All said and done, I think the cruise ships do a wonderful job of containing (and maintaining) illness on the ship.
