I think Most have heard of back to back cruises, (simply put this is where you stay on the same ship for two consecutive runs).

A question for the ones that have... Were you able to book the same stateroom for both runs?, if not did the ship move your belongings for you or did you have to pack, retrieve and re process your luggage?

are there any untold perks that come with doing back to back cruises?

We did a back to back on the Voyager of the Seas a few years ago and it was great. (9 days Caribbean followed by a 5 day Bermuda cruise) We were fortunate to have the same room for both cruises so can't comment on how that works. I have heard that your room steward will move you but can't tell for sure.

The only perk we got was being able to stay on the ship and watch the utter confusion that goes on as the crew works like crazy to get everything ready for the new passengers. Quite a sight to see.

Guest relations told us we would receive a phone call to be escorted off the ship, go thru customs and escorted right back on but the call never came so we just stayed put. They delivered our new sail and sign cards to our cabin.

At our room stewards suggestion he found a coffee carafe for us, we filled it in the Windjammer and just relaxed on our balcony. Then right before they started boarding we took a leisurely stroll through the deserted ship.

Our B2B experience on the Wind Surf in 2004 was quite different from Mary Lou's; although, like May Lou, we did not change rooms. Our first leg was Nice to Barcelona. At Barcelona, we were given our new cruise cards, then were allowed to leave the ship quite early. (In contrast, Mary Lou apparently stayed onboard.) We spent a great day ashore in Barcelona, then at lunch time (a very late lunch) we breezed back on board before most of the nex PAX came on board. By then, the ship felt like hone, as we sailed for another week from Barcelona to Lisbon.

I just recently asked this question to a friend who is booked on a B2B in Jan. It is the same cruise we are going on, only we are doing just the last leg - several couples doing the whole 2 weeks. Bill said that they will have the same cabin both weeks and will be able to leave all their belongings on the ship on the day that other passengers disbark and we embark. They will be taken off the ship as a group and go thru customs and then will reboard. At least that is what they were told, it may very well turn out to be the same as Mary Lou's experience and they will be able to stay onboard.

Joey: We have not done a back to back by your definition. But, we disembarked the NCL Sky in Ft. Lauderdale and went down the pier and boarded the Carnival Paradise
