zebra
Welcome back Shaunna. Wow - that was a surprising comment about Carnival and Mexico, can you elaborate a little to give me a better understanding... thanks! Hope you have an exciting trip home. DebbieandJerry
Shaunna, if you have any suggestions on Princess (especially where you want to go) I'd be interested in hearing about them So sorry that this wasn't the best of the best. Shaunna
We got back the night before last but yesterday and today have been super exhausting so I'm just now getting back into the swing of things. I did feel better and we spent a few hours sight seeing around our old neighborhood. Didn't get up through Santa Monica like I wanted but there is always next time. Nice to see traffic hasn't changed. As far as Mexico what we were told by the captain is.... They must go to a foreign port for whatever reasons having to do with the ships registry outside of the USA. When the swine flu hit and they had to cancel the Mexican ports Mexico would let them just cruise by and someone would boat out to the ship (officials) to sign whatever they needed as proof of the foreign visit. They were lenient that way because the WHO still had Mexico on the taboo list I guess and were understanding. As of last week though the WHO officially took Mexico off the taboo list so Mexico said if you want us to board and verify your foreign port visit you gotta dock. Carnival then chose to go ahead and let people off the ship. We did still receive our onboard ship credit as promised. Steve and I did not get off the port. I should have but I was already not feeling great by then. I just had this horrible picture of us being the very first ship allowed to dock and people get off and getting nearly assaulted by all the vendors (God bless them). Just didn't feel like going through that. It was crazy people said... but folks were getting good deals. We want to do a Princess cruise tour next to Alaska but it will likely be a while. Glad I'm home.
