Rose:

Great job on your review. Venice is our favorite port in Italy also. Been there three times so far and will be heading back in October 2010. We have our favorite resturant in the Hotel Luna just off San Marcos.

I agree with you assessment of the Pizza in Italy. It was OK, but nothing to rave about.

We've been to Rome three times but only once to Florence, so we are going to head back there next time. Pisa is indeed something to see.

In Sorrento we had one of the best lunches of our lives.

Again, great job.

Fabulous review Rose! Didn't I tell you that the pizza in Italy is not so great and we tried 3 times! The pizza in France was too die for.... go figure!

I agree with you about Venice - it's just magical! We've spent 5 days there all in all and would love to just stay a week and soak in the ambiance. If you go again you've gotta stay at the place we stayed at - it was sooooooo Venice and made our experience unbelievable.

Glad you enjoyed Sorrento.. we just fell in love with the market their and brought home a HUGE bag of all the different pasta spices and additions - magnifico!! The entire Amalfi coast is so drop dead gorgeous, it's like out of a story book.....

We loved Pisa too and just know how you felt. Isn't the history in Europe just mind boggling. The Vatican sure needs a whole day to be able to do it justice. We loved the Sistine Chapel and Michelangelo's works are out of this world... what REALLY BLEW US AWAY was the statue of David in the Accademia in Florence, we stood there in absolute awe!!!!!

For us one of the most lovely areas is Tuscany which we shared with Joey and David, but beware lots of wineries and fabulous wines

Sorry you didn't get much of the Greek experience - which as you know we love. Next time, if you can, visit Santorini and Mykonos, they are superb.
