KeithnRita
We've only taken photos after the drill is over. On a couple cruises the ship's photographer was taking photos.

lashl
On the two cruises we took Gramps we had the same suite on the Glory. Our cabin stewart said we could skip the last one since we had already been to a life boat drill. We skip it and I'm glad!
DebbieandJerry
The only one we missed was our first Hawaii cruise. Evidently, they conducted the lifeboat drill before embarkation was complete. It really wasn't our fault. We were brought directly to the ship from the airport (NCL arranged air and transfers). A few days later our room steward reminded us that we missed the drill. I remember one drill where they were actually serving appetizers and drinks. I have hysterical pictures of all of us wearing our life jackets, balancing plates of food and drinks. I also remember that we had to "check in" at that drill. Don't recall checking in at any others, tho. Yes, they are hot and bothersome, but once they are over, the party begins! deb1220
We've been to every one except one....because our plane came in late and we missed it. They actually had to hold the ship a couple hours because of several flights coming in late. It was in Feb. and there was a blizzard in the northeast. murr
We actually like the drills, it gives you a chance to scope out the crowd, and of course see how rude some people can be on the stairs. Also, there have been a lot of things happening these days on the high seas, so who wouldn't want to be prepared.
Ellie
We dutifully attend each and every drill dictated by the ship's captain and crew. For me, it brings back memories of those awful fire drills in elementary school. I went to a very strict Catholic school, and the nuns acted as though they would be willing to throw us into the burning building if and when a fire ever appeared! So we obediently grab our life jackets (by this time, we've had a few drinks) and participate in this pre-cruise ritual. I agree about the opportunity to scope out others. That's what we usually do while we're there. My husband is a retired firefighter, and he is amazingly cooperative, considering he's not one to follow rules of any kind! For some reason, he feels he has special privileges on occasion. Don't ask!
bowlcoach
We proudly attend every lifeboat drill. 23 so far. We figure that is 30-45 minutes less at a buffet somewhere.
