hazelson
I know ships have doctors - but can they help in a dental emergency - like loosing a crown????
KeithnRita
It seems like they would need to have a dentist aboard ship to at least serve the crew, especially on the mega ships. I read an article a few years ago about HAL allowing dentists and their wives to cruise for free and be paid a modest salary for services rendered. DebbieandJerry
I can tell you that there was no dentist on the Celebrity Mercury in March. I met a lovely woman who had an abscess who suffered for 5 days until we "hit" Hawaii. Once we were on land, she went to a dentist who diagnosed the abscess and gave her antibiotics. Ship doctor did not diagnose or treat her
jobowl
Good question never heard of one on board.
sailingrose
I asked the crew about it once and they know of dentists in pretty much every port that are decent. May not be our standards but they are capable.

Longboysfan
Funny thing about that - wife had big tooh problem the day the ship was leaving. Lucky it was a NYC departure and we were in Jersey. She got home and we were at the ship by 2pm. Just about the latest we ever boarded.
