two formal nites on 7 day cruise

When did seven day cruises start having two formal nites. I usually take longer cruises but my last two were 7 days. I just don't remember two formal nites on seven day cruises.

Yes, we have always had 2 formals on RCI and Princess.

Every seven night cruise has two "formal nights". But they are not what they were once. Coats and ties no longer needed. Just can't wear crap (tank tops, shorts, etc.)

What amazes me is those that still wear "crap" anyway. It blows my mind and I usually give out evil stares. Sorry but on formal night it's just uncalled for.
