Does anyone use a color theme for packing?

On our last cruise, we met a couple who packs with a theme each time to make the packing and color coordinating easier. They said on their last cruise they packed all tops and bottoms, skirts, slacks, shorts, in black or white and same with all tops so that they could mix and match everything easily. They've also packed for cruises with all red and white and in the wintertime , all red and black. I was amazed but then thought, gee, maybe they've got a good idea- certainly sounds a lot easier than making sure you have this to match that. What do you think about that??? Would you ever do that???

Oh No, to me that kinda sounds silly, LOL

It would get SOOO incredibly boring? I pack whet i need....if i am off to the Caribbean, i tend to pack things with more tropical colours, yellows, whites, turquoises, hot pinks, etc... Not usually too much black as it does not look good with my DARK tan i intend to have...

Plus, when i pack...I think i have everything but the kitchen sink....true sometimes i dont wear a few things, but what happens IF I wanted to wear it??? LOL Have to be ready...

If I did that I would have to go shopping to buy enough items of the same coordinating colors to last the length of the cruise. I do try to pack things that I can mix & match but don't restrict it to just 2 colors.

We go to the Caribbean so we pack all sorts of colors. DW does try to match our outfits for the day. Not exactly, but similar colors and designs. Me, just give me shorts and tank top and I'm good for the day.

While it sounds like a great idea to cut down on packing, I must agree with Sparkyboi that is also sounds very boring. I may pack a top to match both shorts or capris but that is as far as my color coordinating goes. Love all the tropical colors and would get tired of just back and white. Besides, black is too hot in the caribbean sun.

Most of my clothes are mix and match.....but definitely not in 2 colors.

And what about those families that all show up wearing the same shirt? What a hoot! I've even seen families that get a special t-shirt made just for the occasion. I don't think my older kids would wear it. They're at that stage where they don't even want strangers associating them with their parents.
